ŽIVA — The Stories of Life

Where Tarot meets Family Constellations

ŽIVA is a set of 48 illustrated cards and a companion book for intuitive card readings, self-reflection, coaching, counselling and therapy. Fifteen years in the making.

I needed those years to mature. So did the ideas, the concepts and the system itself. My work with people and my own life helped the pieces come together.

ŽIVA brings together tarot, systemic and phenomenological constellations, and years of listening to people & working with groups.

Who is ŽIVA for?

  • For coaches, counsellors and therapists, it brings images, questions and stories into conversations with clients. No tarot knowledge is needed.
  • For constellation practitioners, it offers another way to explore a client’s experience, relationships and possible next steps.
  • For tarot readers, ŽIVA offers a new system connecting symbolic images with a systemic and phenomenological perspective.
  • And you can use ŽIVA for yourself, or with people close to you – as a simple game.

What can you explore with ŽIVA?

When you cannot quite find the words, an image gives you somewhere to begin.

Explore a decision, a relationship or a change in your life:

  • What am I holding on to?
  • What is mine to take responsibility for?
  • What step am I ready to take?

In a session, the client’s response to an image can open a conversation and bring another perspective.

How do you begin?

Choose a card, or draw one at random. What do you notice in the image? What does it bring up? Then explore its questions and story in the book.

The book also includes The Map of Movements, a nine-card layout I created years ago and still use with clients. Moving a small figurine across the map brings play into exploring possible next steps.

A book of stories

ŽIVA – Stories of Life brings questions and stories to each card. Some come from my own life. Others are fictional – yet deeply connected with my personal world.

A family table full of expectations. An unanswered message. A goodbye. The courage to let someone see who you are.

Read it on its own, or alongside the card on your table.

Five areas of life

The deck is organised into five interconnected series:

  • The Architecture of Life – our place within the larger whole and the foundations of our lives. (Unity, Not-Knowing, Exchange, Belonging, …)
  • Realms of Experience – the different dimensions through which we experience being alive.  (Mind-Full, In-Time, Standstill, …)
  • Interactions with Reality – how we meet and respond to what life brings. (Project-ion, Load, Becoming, …)
  • Inner Movement – how we make choices and take steps in our own lives. (Response-Ability, Boundary, Intention, ...)
  • Inner World – our emotional lives and how we experience them. (Sharing, Fighting, Morality, ...)

What is inside the box?

  • 48 illustrated cards with English titles.
  • An English-language companion book, with stories, reflection questions and ways to work with the cards.

12 additional cards — more room for reflection and play

You can add 12 additional cards to your ŽIVA set, expanding the range of images and themes available when working with groups.

This optional extension is not specifically structured around systemic and phenomenological concepts. Its broader themes offer more possibilities for group reflection, evaluation and play.

Use the cards to reflect on a shared experience, explore different perspectives or start a conversation. They also lend themselves to Dixit-style storytelling, empathy games and getting to know one another:

  • Which card would you give me?
  • Which image reflects how you see yourself in this group?
  • What story could we create together?

The person behind ŽIVA

I am Juraj Víg, a Slovak coach, trainer and facilitator living in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

For 22 years, I have worked with cards – first reading them for clients, later using them with groups as a trainer and facilitator, and in coaching, where images help clients explore their own journeys.

I also bring thirteen years of training and facilitation, alongside years of coaching and constellation work.

Named after the Slavic goddess of life, ŽIVA carries much of my own life within it – including the parts that took courage to share.
